Illustrated magazine cover

The premise of this project is to illustrate a magazine cover to be used by the Canadian magazine “The Walrus”. The subject is a flower with the silhouette of a woman. This represents a person and their mind. Summer is represented by the rain and sunshine that backlights the subject. The bright colours help this cover to stand out on a shelf. The headline “Tend Your Garden” drives home the point that “reading is to your mind what rain is to a garden”.
